“My work is essentially an exploration of ideas, my own and others, about architectural space, shape and form, combined with my thoughts and feelings about histories and mythologies. The latter of these may be of a national, religious, aesthetic or pop cultural origin. Though everything created by man springs forth from some kind of need, once materialized, all things become part of a larger legacy, legitimate or otherwise. These may later be used as elements in other ideas and developments. The examination of these possible dialects is the focus of my sculptural endeavor.”

Tantalizing, systematic, kinetic, sleek, lustrous, seductive, girly, silky, plastic, alien, and polished. These all embody the world in which I paint. My paintings utilize what paint does best: pouring, mixing, spreading, gliding, embellishing, and lasciviously running across the surface in all of its fluidity


I am interested in navigation through process, surfaces of built up paint, creating spatial relationships, as well as the selective processes of collage in the form of additive and subtractive methodologies. Clashing angular forms like origami map out the painted surface. Billowing clouds of diluted paint washes co-exist within a network of samplings of graphic devices and more gestural looping cartoon knots of paint. This amalgamation of things and processes works on the basic premise that the tactile pleasures of paint, colour and form, tell the story of each painting’s making. Ultimately I am dealing with the idea that these paintings are all a part of one big conglomeration of all things in my visual diet in a world where artifice and nature are becoming increasingly difficult to disentangle.
